| 内容記述 | この論文は、さまざまな社会を「経済の発展段階」から4つに類型化し、それぞれの社会類型ごとに都市計画の理念、手法がどのように違うのかを、日英近代都市計画の史実、片言隻語から引用し、明らかにしたものである。その際、とくにつぎの2点に注目した。① 貧しい時期から衰退期へいたる社会の変化、発展のなかで、とくに日英の都市計画は、それぞれの時期に、どのような内容、特徴をもっていたか。② 成熟期社会・日本の「最後の仕事」はなんだろうか。論文は、「都市計画は社会的技術であり、一国の社会の変化・発展に対応して、計画理念、手法も変わる」という都市計画観に立つ。そして、さまざまな国、社会の都市計画は、同じ経済の発展段階にあるとき、類似点をもつことに注目し、諸社会を「貧困期社会」「成長期社会」「成熟期社会」「衰退期社会」と類型化し、都市計画の理念、課題を整理した。また、英米が活力あふれる「成熟期社会」のあいだに、住宅、高速道路網の整備に国富を蓄積し、社会の安定をはかつてきた教訓にもとづき、日本もそろそろ「衰退期社会」への突入を現実的な課題としてとらえる必要があること、その最大の課題のひとつは、東京の居住地改善であることを問題提起した。 | |||||||

| 内容記述 | Town planning is a kind of societal enginieering and has transformed its concepts and methods through the historical development of socio-economic conditions in a society. The purpose of this paper is to clarify the ideals and development methoeds of town planning in each society，which is categorized into four types by the stages of economic development: Poverty stricken society，Economically evolving society，Matured society and Declining society. Main topics mentioned below are discussed in the paper. 1) What were the contents and characteristics of town planning in Japan and United Kingdom from Poverty stricken society to Declining society? 2) What kind of final job in the town planning field should Japan accomplish before entering into the Declining society in the early 21st century? | |||||||
