The difference of groundwater preservation policies of the two cities affects citizens' recognition of tapwater quality and its contamination problems. Among environmental conscerns on three levels ; global level such as greenhouse effect and ozone layer depletion，community level such as air and water pollution，and personal level such as energy conservation and recycling at individual households，younger citizens are more likely to criticize public environmental policies and to be interested in global problems，while elder citizens pay more attention to conservational behabior in their everyday life. Satisfaction and opinion on the quality of tapwater also vary in each agegroup and sex with different values and life experiences.
