Residents think much of damage to a post and a roof for damage to their dwelling house. Distinctive features of damage appeared in each of four communities and their distribution are well remembered. About 40 or 50 % of residents answered that it is effective for decreasing earthquake damage to make a roof light. Some 70% of the most seriously damaged houses have changed from a tile roof to a zinc roof. In case of other houses it is about 20-40%. Though it has passed 11 years since the event，the states and their distribution which appeared after the shock are almost exactly remembered.
