 note = {大都市居住に関する研究の一環として，われわれのグループは，「都市的生活様式・生活構造と社会サービスに関する研究」というテーマのもとに，センター研究員を中心とし，さらに外部の研究者と本学大学院生を加えた研究会をつくり，都市的生活様式論の理論的整備とその実証研究に従事してきた。都市的生活様式は，地域社会における共通・共同問題が専業的に処理されるシステムと規定される。すなわち地域住民が共同の生活問題を専門機関の提供するサービスによってもっぱら処理するようなシステムをさすのである。生活問題処理にみられるこのような特色が，世帯内処理ないし自己処理の低下に伴って生ずるのか，また専門的処理の発生とこれへの依存はどのような過程をたどるのか，さらに専門的処理の相互連関性，相互扶助システムとの代替性についても議論が深められた。その結果，都市的生活様式論の整備の為には，当面，問題処理のカテゴリー・システムを確定する作業が必要であることが明らかにされた。このカテゴリー・システムの中で相互扶助的処理から専門的処理への移行も観察されることになる。本報告は，以上の課題を実証的に追求する為に ，東京都神津島村でおこなった調査の報告である。調査は大きく2回にわけられる。後半の調査結果は次回にまとめて報告される予定である。今回の報告では，神津島に特有の社会状況と専門的処理の発生・展開状況・相互関連が叙述されている。, A research team comprised mainly of researchers from the Center for Urban Studies at the Tokyo Metropolitan University as well as graduate students at the T.M.U. and researchers from outside the Center have been engaged in theory building and an empirical survey on dwellers of large cities under the theme “Studies on the Way and Structure of Urban Life and Social Services”. Leading ideas were derived from the theory that the urban way of life can be explained as a specialized system of coping with common problems found in community life. In other words，it is a system under which people in the community heavily depend upon the services offered by special agencies that assist the residents in dealing with common problems incurred in their daily life. Discussions were held on the way in which the specialized system emerges and develops，the extent to which it is related to both the individual's own plan of self-help and his family's method of dealing with difficulties，and the extent to which the specialized system can be substituted for “mutual-aid” systems. One conclusion derived from the discussions was an awareness of an urgent need to construct some sort of categorization that best describes the theory of urban way of life and explains the transition from the mutual aid system of coping to the specialized system for dealing with urban problems. Following are the reports produced from a survey conducted on Kohzu Island，located within Tokyo Metrpolis，that were necessary for examining how a specialized system works under different social situations. These reports include the general features of the Kohzu community and the emergence and development of the specialized system within that community., postprint},
