Semi-structured interviews were conducted on 10 nurses with six or more years of experience nursing dementia patients at four facilities. Qualitative analysis was used. In results, four categories of nursing support emerged. \"Protecting the dignity of the patients as persons with their own will\" refers that nurses were respecting the way of life of the patient and protecting his/her dignity and helping decision-making through understanding minor changes and the patient's will. \"Continuing to question and explore better decisions\": Nurses gave the step-by-step instructions over to the family to understand the progression of dementia as well as the patient's current state, and supported their better choices.
