For socio-cultural and psychological adjustment, \"new context\" was divided into three domains; academic, daily life and interpersonal. While a relatively high level of adjustment was reported in all socio-cultural aspects, more difficulties were discovered in psychological aspects, especially in the interpersonal domain. The level of acculturation performance that is an overall measure of all adjustment aspects varied widely amongst the students. About half the students were involved with Australian society to a relatively high level, and the majority of the rest were enjoying and fulfilling themselves in the international student community. However, there were several students who were isolated from both the Australian society and international student community and showed symptoms of maladjustment. Several variables emerged as significant factors determining the level of acculturation performance. One was \"host cultural rule understanding\" that suggests th e extent that the students know and accept the Australian cultural rules and behave accordingly. The second variable was \"interaction opportunity with Australians\" that reflects the daily opportunities that the students have to mix with Australians. Third, \"established interaction with Australians\" that indicates the width and depth of interpersonal network with Australians. The fourth variable was \"psychological adjustment in interpersonal domain\" that shows the stress level in communicating with Australians.
